I have come to understand that I am most at peace and experiencing contentment when I am really grounded in my faith and pursuing relationship with God.
I have tried to find the right words for this.
There are none that fully capture it.
But I will try.
When my body was failing. When my hands would not stop shaking. When panic came without warning and depression swept over me in waves I could not outrun — there was one thing that never moved.
My faith in Jesus Christ.
Not religion.
Not church attendance.
Not doing everything right.
Jesus.
In the moments when I had nothing left — no strength, no answers, no certainty that tomorrow would be better than today — I found Him faithful.
When I could not pray eloquently I cried out.
When I could not worship joyfully I worshipped anyway.
When I could not read long passages I held onto one verse until it held me back.
*"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." — Philippians 4:13*
That was not a motivational phrase to me in those dark months.
That was a lifeline.
I want to be clear about something...
My recovery was not the result of the right diet alone.
Or the right medication.
Or the right morning routine.
Jesus brought me back.
He was my strength when I had none.
He was my hope when I could not manufacture any.
He was my reason to get out of that bed when depression had pinned me down.
He is the foundation of everything The WHAT is built on.
Not because I am trying to push my beliefs on anyone.
But because I would be dishonest if I built this platform and left Him out of the story.
He is not a footnote in my recovery.
He is the whole story.
And I am grateful every single day that He did not let me go — even in the moments when I was barely holding on.
If you do not know Him — I simply invite you to consider Him.
Not perfectly.
Not religiously.
Just honestly.
He met me in my mess.
He will meet you in yours.
My Thought For Today is Psalm 28:1 NLT.”I pray to you, O Lord, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.”
Here David is sharing that God is his source for comfort and protection. His rock! He begins by saying that it’s the Lord he talks to when he is in a strait, not people. Instead of calling friends, relatives and co workers. Why not take your problems to The Lord?Through a relationship David found The Lord to be a source of strength, protection and comfort. A solid foundation upon which his confidence rested. David said that without God “ he might as well give up and die”. God wants to be THE rock that you can depend on.
Gods character is steadfast even when his answers are not immediately apparent!
My Thought For Today is Proverbs 21:1 NKJV. “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”
There are going to be times in your life when people in certain positions of authority appear to have you at their mercy and their intentions towards you may not be good. You can find comfort in the fact that God is able to influence the heart of that individual.
The next time you find yourself in this position-instead of striving with that individual take the matter to God. You can pray “ Lord, you have access to the heart and mind of every person. If their decision concerns me, guide their thoughts, motives and desires according to your purpose.
The emphasis is not on trying to manipulate people but to trust God to work through circumstances and people that you cannot control.
My Thought of The Day.
What am I avoiding just because it would take longer than I’d like?
*Before you read my story I want you to know something important.*
This platform was never created to debate. It was never created to tell you that my way
is the only way or that my truth is your truth.
This platform is for men. Let's Talk About The WHAT exists for one reason only - To share my story.
What I experienced. What I felt. What I walked through. What brought me back.
My hope is simple — that somewhere in my story you find a piece of your own. That something I share connects with
something you are carrying. That my journey gives you permission to believe that your journey is not over.
I am not a therapist. I am not a psychologist. I am not a medical professional giving advice.
I am a man who went through something dark and came out the other side
And I believe that story is worth telling.
If my truth encourages even one person to hold on one more day — to choose life over darkness — to cry out to God
when they have nothing left — then every word on this platform is worth it.
This is not my pulpit. This is my testimony.
Come as you are. Stay as long as you need. Take what helps you and leave the rest.
You are welcome here.
